Set the shifts

The defaults suit a sausage sizzle. Edit them for a canteen, a fete stall, a working bee, or a whole day of them — up to twenty shifts, thirty spots each.

Share the link

Paste the share link into the class group, the club chat, the email. There's a ready-made message waiting on your coordinator page. Bookmark the coordinator link — there are no accounts, so that link is the only key.

Watch it fill in

Volunteers tap an open spot, type their name and an optional note (a phone number, "can bring the urn"), done. Each shift shows a running count and gets a tick when it's fully staffed. Changed plans? Everyone can take their own name back off, which reopens the shift straight away.

FAQ

Is there a ready-made roster for my sport?

Probably. There are ten club presets built in — junior and senior cricket, Little Athletics and championships, Nippers, swim club night, netball duty and carnival, junior AFL and junior league. Pick one and the shifts fill themselves in, then edit whatever does not match your club.

Can someone drop out?

Yes. Each volunteer's own spot has a "can't make it?" button that takes their name off and reopens the shift. You can also remove any name from the coordinator page if someone lets you know instead.

Can I print it?

Yes — the coordinator page has a Print button that lays out just the roster, no buttons or chrome, ready for the fridge or the canteen wall. There's a Download CSV button too, for a spreadsheet copy.

A sign-up sheet without the clipboard

The paper roster on the canteen wall works right up until it doesn't: it lives in one spot, the same three families sign every column, and by Thursday nobody can remember whether Grill 9–11 is covered. This is that sheet, online. You set the shifts once, share a link, and volunteers put their own name down from wherever they are — the school pickup line, the group chat, the couch. When a shift is full, it's full. No double-ups, no chasing.

Built for the coordinator who has enough on

If you've ended up running the roster for the fete or the sizzle, you did not sign up for a spreadsheet and thirty reply-all emails. There are no accounts — not for you, not for the volunteers. You get two links: a share link for the group, and a private coordinator link that can remove a name or delete the roster. When the day comes, hit Print for the fridge or the marquee wall, or Download CSV to keep a copy. That's the whole tool.

Ready-made rosters for club duty

If you run duty for a sports club you do not have to type the shifts at all. Pick your sport from the dropdown at the top and the whole day drops in, already broken into slots with sensible numbers on each:

  • Junior cricket — Saturday
  • Senior cricket — two-day match
  • Little Athletics — Saturday, and a championships day
  • Nippers — Sunday
  • Swim club — club night
  • Netball — Saturday duty, and a carnival
  • Junior AFL and junior league — home game

Ten of them, and they are real rosters rather than three example lines: canteen, BBQ, gate, scoring, timekeeping, first aid, set-up and pack-down, with the shift times a club day actually runs to. Change anything you like before you share it — the preset is a starting point, not a template you are stuck with. If none of them fit, start blank and type your own.

Prefer a spreadsheet?

Some committees want a file they can print and stick on the noticeboard, or email round before anyone touches a website. Each of these is a real starting roster with the shifts and jobs already filled in — you add the names. Free, no sign-up, nothing to install.

The spreadsheet is the easy part. Chasing the names is the hard part, and that is the bit the roster tool does for you — people claim their own shift from a link and the sheet fills itself in.
