You don't build anything. Give it a team name if you like, press the button, and you get a share link. Paste it in the team chat, pin it, put it in the stand-up doc — wherever people already look.

A new question every day, by itself

This is the bit that matters. The question behind that link changes overnight, every day, in an order shuffled just for your team. There's no reminder to set, no bot to install, no "who's doing the question today" rostered to the person who's on leave. It rotates.

Two big options, A and B. You tap one, and only then do the bars appear — and we mean properly hidden: today's numbers aren't in the page at all until this browser has voted. Nobody piles onto whatever the first three said. Change your mind any time; the day's tally updates.

FAQ

Do I have to post a new question every day?

No — that's the whole point. The question changes on its own at midnight, Sydney time. The link you shared stays exactly the same, so there's nothing to send and nothing to remember.

Can I skip a question I don't like?

Yes. On your organiser page there's a "skip today's question" button — it replaces today's question with the next one in your rotation, and tomorrow carries on as normal. It's a swap for the day, not a permanent block: the skipped question comes back around on the next lap through the bank. Skipping clears any votes cast today, since they were about the question you just swapped out.

Can I add our own questions?

Yes. Write the question and its two sides on the organiser page and it joins your team's rotation for good — it turns up on the next free day, then comes round again with everything else. Up to a hundred of your own, and you can remove one whenever you like.

Can I see who voted for what?

Only if people type a name, and only you can see it. Everyone on the shared link sees the two numbers and nothing else.

What happened to yesterday's question?

It's on the same page, under today's, with its final split — plus a collapsible archive of the last thirty days. Good for settling an argument about what the team decided about hot dogs.

Why not just post it in the group chat?

Everyone's tried it. Someone kicks off a team question of the day with real enthusiasm, keeps it up for eight working days, then gets busy and it quietly dies. Meanwhile the answers are scattered through forty messages, three people replied to the wrong one, and there's no way to tell what the team actually reckons.

A link that refreshes itself has no enthusiasm to run out of. The question is waiting when people get in. The vote is two taps on a phone. The split is a picture, not a thread. And when someone joins the team in March, you send them the same link you sent everyone in January.

Stand-ups, remote teams and the ten-past-nine lull

The obvious slot is the start of a stand-up: read the question out, let people call their side, then show the bars. It takes forty seconds and it gets voices in the room before anyone has to say the word "blockers".

For remote and hybrid teams it does more work. A daily icebreaker question in the channel gives people who don't share a kitchen something small to have an opinion about, and it's asynchronous — the part-timer who starts at eleven still gets to vote. Some teams put the link in the channel topic and never touch it again. Others open it on the shared screen at the Monday catch-up and argue about hot dogs for a minute.

It also works for a class, a book club, a family chat, or a shift roster where people never overlap. Anywhere a group needs a low-stakes reason to say something to each other.

What sort of questions?

Silly ones. Would you rather questions for work that don't need anyone to be vulnerable: be chased by one horse-sized duck or a hundred duck-sized horses, sneeze glitter or hiccup bubbles, always be ten minutes early or never wait in a queue again. Plus the classic unwinnable debates — is a hot dog a sandwich, is cereal a soup, does pineapple belong on a pizza.

Nothing asks people to share a feeling, a family story, or their worst fear. That's on purpose. A question of the day for work should be safe to skip and safe to answer honestly, and the fastest way to kill one is to make it earnest.
