The group-gift problem
Group gifts fall over in two predictable ways. First, nobody can agree on what to get — the thread goes quiet, someone panics, and it ends up being a gift card. Second, everybody quietly buys the "safe" option, and the birthday person unwraps two of the same book and a candle they already own. A gift idea board fixes both: ideas in one place, a vote to surface the winner, and a visible "I'll get this" so the buying is claimed in the open.
How it works
1. Start the board
Say who it's for and — if you like — the occasion, a rough budget, and a note (what they're into, when you want it sorted by). You get two links: a share link for the group chat, and a private organiser link that can remove ideas or delete the board. Bookmark the organiser one — there are no accounts, so the link is the only key.
2. Share it with everyone but the recipient
This is a surprise board, so the one person who mustn't get the link is the person the gift is for. Everybody else opens it, adds ideas, and upvotes the ones they like. Paste in a product link if you've found the actual thing.
3. Claim what you'll buy
When you're going to buy something, tap I'll get this and put your name on it. It locks to you — only one person can claim each idea, so the rest of the group can see it's handled and pick something else. Changed your mind? Take your name back off and it opens up again.
What it doesn't do
It doesn't touch money. No card numbers, no splitting the bill, no collecting funds — it sorts out what and who's buying, and the dollars stay between you and the group, however you usually square up. It also pairs neatly with the Group Card for the message that goes with the present.

Is it actually free?
Yes. No account, no trial, no card. It's a small tool, not a platform.
Can the person we're buying for see it?
Only if someone shares the link with them — so don't. It's a surprise board; the shared link goes to everyone except the recipient. The board is unlisted and search engines don't index it.
How do we stop two people buying the same thing?
Each idea can be claimed by exactly one person with "I'll get this". Once it's claimed, everyone else sees who's getting it, so nobody doubles up. If two people tap at the same instant, the first one wins and the second is told to pick another.
Do people need accounts?
No — tap the link, add an idea, vote, claim one. Their browser remembers the ideas they added and what they're buying, so they can undo their own.
Does it handle the money?
No, deliberately. It organises the ideas and who's buying what — settle up however your group always does.
