How it works
1. Start the pool
Pop in the parents' names and, if you like, a rough due date and a note. You get two links: a share link for the group chat or the shower invite, and an organiser link that records the birth and can tidy up guesses. Bookmark the organiser one — there are no accounts, so the link is the only key.
2. Everyone guesses
Guests tap the share link, put in their name, a date, and a weight in kilograms (type "3.4" — it's stored to the gram under the hood), plus an optional cheeky message. No app, no login. Their browser remembers their own guesses so they can take one back if they change their mind.
3. Record the arrival
When bub arrives, open your organiser link and enter the actual date and weight (and the time, if you're feeling thorough). That closes guessing and reveals the leaderboard to everyone — winner up top, sorted by who came closest.
How the winner is decided
The scoring is deliberately simple and shown right on the page, so nobody can accuse the organiser of fudging it. Each guess earns a closeness score:
- One point for every day away from the actual arrival date.
- One point for every 100 grams away from the actual weight.
Add them up; the lowest score wins. That means being 200 grams out counts about the same as being two days out — date and weight pull roughly equal weight, so you can't just spam a guess right on the due date and ignore the scales. If two guesses tie, the one made first takes it.
